obert Whitby and Middy Nanney were my gggggrandparents. Robert Whitby moved to Ross Co., OH sometime between the 1810 and 1840 census. He is listed in the Liberty Twn., Ross Co., OH 1840 Fed. Census. I know he had at least one daughter, Elizabeth, because she is my ggggrandmother. She married Benjamin Tucker Williams March 30, 1837 in Ross Co., OH. They had one daughter, Amanda Melvina Williams, Sept. 12, 1837 in Ross Co., OH. Elizabeth died Sept. 22, 1840 in Liberty Twn., Ross Co., OH. She is buried in the Ackley Cemetery, Ross Co., OH.

By the 1850 Census, Benjamin Williams, Amanda Williams, Robert Whitby, Susannah Whitby, and David Whitby were in Franklin Co., MO. Middy Nanney was still in Brunswick Co., VA---and I am wondering why she stayed behind and Robert left for Ohio with some of their children and other relatives.

Amanda Williams married Robert V. Wood in Franklin Co., Mo, and that is where my Wood name comes into the Whitby family.
