MRS. C. J. FLACK IS BURIED THURSDAY
Hold Funeral Services In the Round Hill Baptist Church. Leaves many to mourn her. Lovely Flowers<>
Union Mills, July 29 <> At eleven o'clock yesterday funeral services were held in the Round Hill Baptist Church for Mrs. C. J. Flack, who died Wednesday at her home aged seventy-five years, eight months and six days. the Rev. M. L. Lennon officiated and was assisted by the Rev. R. T. Baker, the Rev. Dr. E. B. Dillard and the Rev. D. J. Hunt. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church. the deceased is survived by her husband, a Confederate veteran, thirteen children, forty-five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive, as do four brothers and three sisters and an uncle.
Pall Bearers are Grandsons: The pall bearers, all grandsons of the deceased, were Jewel Flack, Austin Flack, Frank Simpson, Kohler Simpson, Fieldon Koon and Allyne Koon. There were quantities of lovely flowers which were carried by granddaughters, Misses Kent Flack, Bethel Flack, Mildred Flack, Alla Flack, Jettie Rayburn, Bettie Rayburn, Cordie Koon, Nita Koon and Mary Stallings. After the processional had been played the choir sang "My Faith Looks Up to Thee." Then the Rev. Mr. Lennon asked the Rev. Mr. Baker to pray and after the prayer the Hymn, ?Sweet Bye and Bye" was sung with much tenderness by the choir. Selected passages from the scriptures were read by the officiating pastor and then he spoke of the fine life the deceased had led. The Rev. Mr. Hunt next preached a fine sermon in which he sought to comfort the bereaved family. He stated that Mrs. C. J. Flack had been born on November 21, 1851 and had died on July 27, 1927; she had been married on March 14 1872 to C. J. Flack, and then spoke of the number of children who were born from this union, fourteen in all, one having died on January 4, 1926. She had fifty-one grandchildren, but six of them had proceeded her to the grave. The Rev. Dr. Dillard then spoke touchingly of the late Mrs. C. J. Flack.
Mourners Take Last Look. the casket was then opened to allow the many friends, neighbors, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters to take their Last look at the calm and peaceful face of the wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who lay still and silent before them. The choir sang several hymns as the mournful procession passed the bier. The committal
service was very solemn and after the mound of earth, which marks the last resting place on this earth of the late Mrs. C. J. Flack had been made beautiful with the many lovely flowers the mourners silently and sadly dispersed. The deceased was a daughter of the late Amos Nanney and had always been a resident of this county. She had joined the Round Hill Baptist Church at the same time her husband had, August 29, 1886. For the past three years the faithful and loving wife, mother and grandmother had been ill and great had been her sufferings.
